On Tuesday 3rd February 2026, we visited the Young Scientist Centre at UCLAN for a What is Colour? Workshop.

The children had a great time using light boxes to explore how light travels in straight lines and they mixed light using different filters to try and make a rainbow. We also dyed different fabrics using berries and spirulina (algae) and also investigated chromatography by separating colours using filter paper.
