Viking Workshop
Today brought a Viking warrior to Gold Class.
He started by speaking in Norse, which of course we didn't understand! Then he explained who he was and talked about how the Vikings lived and the special things that they made. They made head bands from plaited hair with beads. The wiser you got and the more things you achieved, gained you an extra row of beads - Zahia managed two rows, while the rest of us stayed with one!
We went out onto the play ground and created a shield wall - designed to protect each other from the swords and axes of the Anglo Saxons.
Then we listened to some old tales of Norse Gods - Thor, Loki and Freyja - very interesting.
Our day finished with learning how to throw spears and carrying out a raid.
A fabulous day.
