River Study
As part of our Geography unit on 'River's, we took the short walk to out local river - the River Brun. First we heard about how to keep ourselves safe near water and what to do if we our someone with us falls in - as well as what not to do! We then went to the river where we discovered all the different creatures that live in our river. There were some creatures that had already been caught for us to look at closely and try and identify before we all had the chance to get into the river and use nets to catch our own river creatures. Some of things we caught include: Mayfly, Stonefly, Stickleback and Freshwater Shrimp. The variety of things we caught showed us that the River Brun is actually a very healthy river as so much wildlife is able to live and flourish there. Lastly, we went for a walk alongside the river where we got to see features of a river first-hand, such as: a meander, a weir and erosion happening as well as other features. Despite the weather, it was a fun and informative morning.

Multi-Sports Event
At the start of this half term, Orange class had the opportunity to take part in a multi-sports event at the St Peter's Centre. Two coaches taught us skills involved in football and handball. After a warm-up, we had chance to practice these skills we had learnt and then to apply them in different games. It was a fun session that everyone enjoyed.
