Autumn One

DNA Workshop - October 2025

Year 6 had a super morning at The Young Scientist Centre on Tuesday for a DNA workshop. They looked at models of DNA to understand its structure and compared human DNA with that of different animals. They used precise measuring to mix chemicals in order to extract the DNA of a strawberry and used this to make necklaces. Finally, they learnt about different parts of cells and observed these closely under the microscope. The staff at the centre commented on the excellent behaviour of the children - well done Year 6!

Glow Dodgeball October 2025

Six children from Year 5/6 represented St Peters in a Glow Dodgeball/Benchball event held at Spirit of Sport. The children played against other local schools in both Dodgeball and Benchball wearing glow in the dark bibs. The children were amazing and displayed excellent dodging and throwing skills throughout the evening.

A big well done to all involved! A special mention to Zara (Y6) and Eduard (Y6) who were selected for the School Games Superstar badges. Their effort and determination didn't go unnoticed.

Girls Rugby World Cup September 2025

Four of our Year 6 girls Penelope, Jessica, Ava and Shanum attended a Rugby World Cup event, run by the Burnley Sports Partnership last week. It was a transition event, so our girls teamed with some Year 7 girls from Unity High School. Their behaviour was exceptional and they enjoyed the event! They started with a warm up and some training, then took part in some mini games!
