Our core fiction text for Literacy this half term is 'The Little Red Hen'. We have worked so hard at learning this long story by heart to prepare us for our writing. We performed the original version for you to watch, before we innovate the story with our own new characters.

Keeping cool in the paddling pool...
The Quacky Feathery Duck
Having completed our writing of the traditional story of 'The Little Red Hen', we decided we should innovate it and change the characters. After lots of discussion and recalling prior learning about farms, we settled on these changes:
'The Little Red Hen' became 'The Quacky Feathery Duck'
The 'dog' became the 'alpaca'
The 'cat' became the 'goat'
The 'big fat pig' became the 'spotty lazy cow'
Below is our performance of the innovated story and the innovated repeated phrase.
