Our History learning in action!
In History, we have been learning about ‘what seaside holidays were like in the past’. Pink class made a timeline of important events which happened that led to seaside holidays becoming popular in Victorian Blackpool.
1700- seaside holidays became popular with people who were rich. 
1819- Queen Victoria came to the throne and the Victorian era began. 
1830- the invention of the steam train meant that more people were travelling to seasides. 
1850- people enjoyed watching the Punch and Judy show and hotels were built. 
1894- Blackpool tower opened and became popular for tourists to visit.
