Pink Class Visit to Blackpool Zoo

On Monday 10th November, Pink Class enjoyed an exciting visit to Blackpool Zoo. The day began with a morning workshop where the children revisited their Year One learning on animal groups. They then explored different habitats and microhabitats, linking their discoveries to last half term’s science work. The workshop also included the chance to examine real animal artefacts such as snake skin, a tortoise shell, peacock feathers, and even an elephant’s foot. A particular highlight was the opportunity for pupils to look at, touch, or even hold a hissing cockroach!

After lunch, the children loved walking around the zoo and observing a wide range of animals. They were thrilled to see tigers, camels, monkeys, penguins, and wolves. The most exciting moment for many was spotting Zaiya, an eight-week-old elephant calf.
