Below is the Homework Matrix sent out for 'Spring 1' 24-25. These activities should be done, if you wish to do some, alongside the expected reading and RWI Home Learning each week.

Big DT Project 2025: Emergency Vehicles
First, we chose an emergency vehicle to construct. We looked closely at real life examples and then used recycled materials to build our emergency vehicles. We thought carefully about how to connect the different materials.
Next, we used papier-mâché to cover our models. We used a simple version of papier-mâché made of PVA (runny) glue and water. Applying the papier-mâché made our models stronger and meant we could paint them easier.
Once the papier-mâché had dried and our vehicles were solid, we painted our base colour. We looked at photos of real emergency vehicles and decided that the fire engines should be red, police cars, blue and ambulances yellow.
Finally, while continuing to observe the photos of real emergency vehicles closely, we painted on the details including the wheels, lights and side panels. Some of us noticed really intricate details to add to our models.
