The summer term gave opportunity for many of our pupils to take part in lots competitions and events which took place across the borough. Year 5/6 pupils participated in the Dynamo’s Cricket competitions held at Burnley Cricket club. Both the boys and girls teams played excellent cricket and narrowly missed out on the semi finals. Cross country finally took place at Towneley Park after being re-scheduled due to the delightful British weather! Eight boys and Girls from Year 5/6 participated in wet conditions and placed really well doing themselves and our school proud. Children in Year 4 participated in a Mini Tennis Skills event where they had a carousel of stations designed to improve their skills and knowledge of Mini Tennis. The children were amazing and represented our school fantastically! Finally, five lucky and well behaved boys represented St Peter’s in the very first Lancashire School Games ‘Party in the Park’. The event brought schools together from all the east lancs boroughs and each school was given a specific event to take part in. Our pupils were chosen to take part in OAA, boating and Archery! In addition to this the pupils finished the day off with a colour run around Queens Park. It was an amazing day and one the boys will take away in the memories as they move onto high School. Take a look at the pictures below to see our pupils in action.
