R.E - Our topic this term is Jesus was Special

Learning Challenge - To be able to talk about their own feelings and experiences.

 

Discussion – Talk about times when the children have felt scared. Why did they feel that way? What had created those feelings? Who helped them to be calm down again? What helps them to feel better when they have been so scared? Why?

 

Activity – Ask the children to write about a time when they were scared and then felt happy again.

Computing 

Learning Challenge -To follow and create simple instructions on the computer.

 

Revise the word ‘Algorithm’.

 

An ‘algorithm’ is a precise, step-by-step set of instructions used to solve a problem or achieve an objective.

 

This week you are going to be given an algorithm for colouring a picture. Emphasise how important it is to number the order of the steps because an algorithm is a set of instructions completed in an ordered way.

 

Explain that when they follow instructions they are behaving like a computer; it cannot think for itself, so we (humans) need to provide very precise instructions so that it can do anything.

 

Talk though the algorithm.
