Butterflies 19.05.22

We came back from half term to a surprise delivery, some tiny caterpillars in pots. They had brown stuff in the bottom of the pots which we found out was their food. We watched them grow bigger and bigger until, eventually, they made their chrysalis'. We waited patiently for nearly two weeks until they hatched out as beautiful butterflies. We let them all emerge and then today we released them into the wild. They were very active butterflies this year, so most flew away very quickly, but a couple of sleepy ones let us hold them.
