World Book Day
Orange Class had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day, the costumes people came in were fantastic! We spent the morning talking about some of out favourite books, books we remember reading and how to choose one we will like. We then took part in a reading scavenger hunt - scouring books for different bits of information. We then took part in a 'Bringing books to life' dance session, adding actions to the story of Alice in Wonderland. We spent some time looking at the author David Walliams and thinking about some of the characters in his stories. Often, his characters will act differently to how they might first appear. We tried to create our own in this style, for example and evil-looking witch who was actually very kind and acted to help people. Lastly, in the afternoon we watched zoom session with author Nethondo Zulu who read some stories from Africa and we used this to create our own short pieces of writing. It was a lovely day that we all had in Orange Class.
