Evaluating existing soups
First we looked at a timeline of when different foods were introduced into Britain starting with food in the Stone Age and Roman periods to revisit prior learning. We discussed what stews/soups would have been like through the ages and how we can now import foods from different countries.
The children taste tested four soups and described their taste, texture, smell and appearance. We have decided that we will try to create a soup from vegetables that are seasonal in the UK to reduce the amount of food miles our soup has.
Making and Evaluating Soup
Green Class enjoyed preparing and combining the vegetables for cooking. They especially enjoyed taste testing and evaluating them.
