SMJ Falconry Visit 11.10.23
Chris, from SMJ Falconry visited us today. He brought 4 different owls to see us (pictures below).
We learnt these 3 facts:
- Owls cannot move their eyes, so they turn their heads instead.
- Owls fly silently so the food they are trying to catch cannot hear them.
- Owls are sick every day, making pellets. Pellets contain the fur and bones of the animals the owls have eaten.
Bugs liked to fly around the classroom and landed on Mr Hobin's water bottle!
Casper was a very cheeky owl... he hid inside the playdough shelves!
Fluffy, a Tawny Owl, just like in our book 'Owl Babies'
Twiglet was so tiny. He weighs less than an apple!
We all held Twiglet...
