Fire safety visit 15.11.23

On Friday 15th December we had a visit from Fire Fighter Gregory from Lancashire fire and rescue service. During the hour-long session, the children where taught what to do if their clothes caught on fire....STOP, DROP AND ROLL! Then with the help of Smokey the bear, the class found out what to do if there was a fire in their home. The children have been encouraged to talk to their parents/carers at home and make a fire plan, so they can safely escape the home. A selection of children then acted out a home fire scenario and some brave new recruits rescued the family and their pet bunny. Year 2 now know that in a fire emergency the most important thing to do is GET OUT, STAY OUT AND CALL 999.
