Home Learning- Tuesday 26th January 2021 – YELLOW CLASS

Good morning children smiley

Here is your home learning for today.

Read, Write Inc

If you haven’t already done so, register for free on oxford owl. Here your child can

continue to read books at the correct level. Follow the link below to register.

Ask your child whose group they are in for Read, Write, Inc and then see below for

their Read, Write, Inc level. Some children have changed groups after the Christmas

holidays. The children were in their new groups yesterday, however, if your child

does not know, please email me to ask or contact school.

Mrs Ditta and Mrs Douglas - Red Ditty group (set 2 sounds)

Miss Chadwick - Green group (set 2 sounds)

Miss Hargreaves - Pink group (set 3 sounds)

Click the link below to watch a daily speed sound and spelling lesson. Then read one

Set 2 Reading ‘ow’

Set 2 Spelling ‘ow’

Set 3 Reading ‘ear’

Set 3 Spelling ‘ear’

As you will see Set 2 children have completed all set 2 sounds now, so have gone back to the beginning.  This is to make sure the children are secure with those sounds and to ensure they can read words with those sounds in fluently before moving on.

Red words (also known as tricky words) need to be practised daily.

Click the link below for this week’s red words matching your child’s reading level

above. These are the same words all week as they need to know these fluently.

Starter: Starter: Match the number to the base 10 show in this game.

Main activity: ‘To describe and classify 2D shapes.’ In this lesson you will describe 2-D shapes using mathematical vocabulary and then classify them into two groups.

I have set you some work on purple mash today called ‘2D shape sorting’.

Geography: Recap; play and sing continents song this is a fun way of remembering them.

What is an ocean? Today, we will be learning about the 5 oceans on our earth and the location of them in relation to the 7 continents. We will be ordering them in size and discussing why the oceans are always in motion. In this lesson you will need a pencil, a piece of paper or an exercise book and your wonderful brain. Let’s get started!

Please complete the sheet attached; ‘Oceans sheet’.

Now listen to the ocean song;
