Investigating the absence of light

We created a 'den of darkness' in the classroom so that the children could understand that we need light to be able to see objects. The children to see three different materials in the dark: black card, tin foil and clear plastic. The children predicted whether they would be able to see them based on their properties then reported on their findings.
