Thornton Hall Farm Trip 07.03.25
On Friday 7th March we had a VERY busy day at Thornton Hall Farm.
First, we went on a walk up a big hill to meet Bruce and his girls who are Red Deer. We got to feed them and our hands got all slimy from their tongues. Then we walked back down the hill and went to feed some Alpacas. After that we all got to stroke a very cute Guinea Pig and a very very fluffy Rabbit.
We then got to Miss Franklin's favourite part of the day... we met the Pygmy Goats and all got to cuddle them! Finally it was time for some lunch, we were all hungry. We ate our picnic and played in the soft play. Ismail A really impressed everybody climbing the volcano 5 times completely on his own!
After our play time we went to see some real Donkeys. Ehaan was VERY excited about this as he had been our Donkey in The Nativity. Then we got to quickly feed some Llamas (thankfully, they didn't spit on us) and then mixed together some formula to go and feed the newest members of the farm.
We got to the baby animal shed, to find some tiny 3 week old Lambs and some Calves. We fed the Calves first, they were super speedy at drinking their milk. We all got to also feed the Lambs, which made us giggle as their tails wagged while they drank. Farmer Mark and Miss Franklin had to help with this as the Lambs get so excited.
Our final activity was meeting Coco the Shetland Pony who was only the same height as us! She was very friendly.
