Brockhole-on-Windermere

On Monday, Orange class went to Brockhole-on-Windermere in the Lake District.  We spent the morning as Geography detectives.  We walked around and explored the grounds while thinking about what we could see.  We listed the physical and human features of the landscape we could see, we identified different habitats and animals that lived there and we thought about people's impact on the area.  The Lakes are a popular destination for tourists and we discussed the impact that people can have on the area, such as a litter, and what can be done.  After lunch, we gathered some natural materials from around the grounds and used these to create our own pieces of artwork inspired by the Lakes.  It was a cold and tiring day but we all had an enjoyable time.
