Burnley St Peter's

C of E Primary School

Enrichment

This morning we joined the Wednesday morning communion service at St Peter's Church.

We blew bubbles to represent sending prayers to God, Summayah read the Gospel, some children read prayers and some other children had blessings. What a lovely service, all the children commented on how spiritual they felt afterwards.

Today, we were incredibly lucky to have four very special birds visit Gold Class.

We learnt how the different coloured eyes represented the time that the owls hunt and we also found out that their ears are directly next to their eyes!

Every child held an owl and one of them even flew across the classroom.

It was very exciting and lovely ending to our science topic of Evolution and Inheritance.

Gold Class have made links with Year 6 at Holy Trinity School in Stacksteads, Bacup.

Today, we were picked up in their mini bus and taken to their school hall to see everyone dressed in World War II clothing! They looked amazing!

They had just finished their history topic on WWII and invited us to take a look at all the things they have learned. We made barrage balloons, spitfire planes and made lots of new friends.

We are looking forward to them visiting us in the new year.
