Lake District Trip (inc. Beatrix Potter World) 14.06.24

WOW! What an incredible day we had at Lake Windermere.

First, we travelled on the coach from school and could not believe how long it took us to get to the train station in Haverthwaite. We boarded the train and had a squash and a biscuit while we chugged along to Lakeside. We all found the big dark tunnel very exciting.

Once we arrived in Lakeside, we transferred to the big steam boat to sail across Lake Windermere. The weather was quite wet, so we sat inside and ate our picnic. We really enjoyed looking at the views out of the big windows. When we arrived at Bowness-On-Windermere the weather had brightened up, so we could to stand on the deck and look out at the lake.

We disembarked the boat and walked up to Beatrix Potter World. While walking we saw some very fluffy baby geese. We arrived at Beatrix Potter World and split into two groups for the cinema room, where we all learnt all about the different characters in Beatrix Potter's books. We then walked around the attraction, answering questions on the quiz, while looking closely at all the models, pictures and structures showing the different stories. We especially enjoyed exploring outside for all the tiny creatures hidden in 'Mr McGregor's' garden.

After we had finished at Beatrix Potter World we climbed back onto the coach and came back to school. A lot of us slept on the way home, but those of us who were awake were very enthusiastically talking about everything we had seen and done on our adventure to Lake Windermere.
