Good morning children, it was so lovely to see you all on our zoom call on Friday. Please complete today’s home learning as below. Last week of home learning before the half term holidays.

Read, Write Inc:

If you have not already done so, register for free on oxford owl. Here your child can continue to read books at the correct level. Follow the link below to register. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/home/reading-site/find-a-book/library-page?view=image&series=Read+Write+Inc

Mrs Ditta and Mrs Douglas - Red Ditty group (set 2 sounds)

Miss Chadwick - Green group (set 2 sounds)

Miss Hargreaves - Pink group (set 3 sounds)

Miss Yates - Blue group (set 3 sounds)

Miss Wilkinson - Grey group (set 3 sounds)

Under each Read, Write, Inc group there will be the day’s work set, including the sound to read and spell. Their red words to learn for the week and a ‘hold a sentence’. The ‘Hold a Sentence’ is a new lesson that we are introducing to home learning.

Hold a sentence is a process used in RWI to support writing. It teaches children to remember a whole sentence in their head before they write it down with the correct punctuation and spelling.

Red and Green group have now completed the set 2 sounds twice and are moving onto set 3.

Good afternoon

Geography: Look at the different animals on today’s sheet and see if you can describe them.

Do you know which animal lives in a hot climate and which live in a cold climate?

Animals that live in cold countries – have thick fur or fat to keep them warm. Some have white fur for camouflage.

Animals that live in hot countries – some have stripes or spots to disappear amongst trees or grass. Some have thick skin to protect from the sun.

Most animals in the UK are kept on farms like cows and sheep. There are farm animals in hot countries but there are also many wild animals especially in rain forests and the large grassy plains. Animals in cold countries are often wild.

Complete the sheet attached.
