History
At St. Peter’s C of E Primary School ‘Every Child of God Matters’. We believe in a high quality history education that brings learning to life through hands on practical learning and enrichment. It inspires children’s curiosity and develops their ability to ask perceptive questions and think critically. Our history curriculum is relevant to the needs of our children and helps them to understand the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change and the diversity of societies. Children gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world.
Academic Year 2020/21
Trip to Ribchester Roman Museum
Green Class had a super day at the Roman Museum in Ribchester. They listened to a talk by Matthew who told them why the Roman's had invaded Britain and showed us to real and replica Roman artefacts. They also had the chance to try on some Roman armour and helmets which were very heavy! After lunch they explored the ruins of a Roman bath house. They used the diagram on the sign to work out which part was which and tried to imagine what it might have been like to visit the baths in the Roman times.
